I believe that one doesn’t need more than 7 days for toefl….all you gotta do is :
1. Study the book and the CD that you get after registration.
2. ALWAYS be calm when attempting this test…it you ask me its more like a temperament test….always tests your coolness at the test center.
3. If you really want to study hard, download the kaplan and barons cd on the toefl iBT from the internet, they provide good practise.

p.s. : I studied 5-6 days for this test, did a little of the above mentioned material and got a score of 115 :D , while my friend studied for just 1 day ( just 1 ! ), and got a score of 109…..This test is much easier for kids who have grown up reading the newspaper regularly or novels, comics, etc.

are you taking the paper based test ? I took the iBT ( internet based test ) , so i prepared accordingly ( i.e. the speaking and listening sections ).

As far as books are concerned you can take either the Kaplan’s or the Baron’s, both are good, though i’d say Kaplan’s is slightly better but Baron’s has more prep. material.
You will also get a official prep. book when you register for the test, make sure you do that properly (during my exam, i got an essay similar to a sample essay given in the official guide book, so i simply wrote down an identical essay and got full marks :D ).

All the best !
