It’s very hard to find the Average GRE scores for Grad School at one single search or minimum GRE scores required for admission for each department and college.

Average GRE Scores
It’s a huge mistake to start searching for grad schools only based on Graduate Record Exam Scores or GRE Cutoff score. There are so many other factors that are considered along with GRE scores for graduate school admission. But, having said that, I’m sure, students want easy way to find the universities based on their academic profile and GRE score.
I have seen students search for Good GRE scores for admission. That will give an idea, but average gre scores will give an perspective into each college and universities.
With Revised GRE, few schools have listed both Test scores that are accepted. You can also refer to Old GRE to Revised GRE Score Conversion
Not all universities list the minimum or average GRE of admitted students. If university website doesn’t list the score requirements, you can send email to department and ask for the score requirements.
Hi I have a score of 1050 in GRE and 99 in TOEFL. I am planning to apply for PhD in biology (molecular Biology/genetics/cell biology). I have a 2 yrs work experience as a research associate in Dupont. and I have done my internship in Belgium. I have a GPA of 3.6

Hey, today i gave the gre and got a similar result and am planning going for Ms in computer science> quant 740, verbal 470… i am planning in taking it again and see if i can score a little bit higher.
Nevertheless, i am interested in knowing if I reach for example 770 in quant where could I have chances in being admitted. Is Princeton and other ivy leagues out of my league?? Can you help me with this.
Good score. 740 to 770 will not make much difference. But, 470 to 570 in Verbal will improve your chances to get into good school.

@kavitha: For GRE score of 900, getting admission is tough. Even if you get admission, then Visa might be problem. I would suggest to take GRE again.

@tinu: There are 1000's of colleges and universities in U.S. There are universities that give admission for GRE score of 1500 and also for score less than 800. Getting score above 1100 is good to get into good school, if you need scholarship, try to score more than 1300.

Hi you are having a good toefl score and CGPA. Though your score is average in gre, if you are a Ph.D seeker. If you are looking for phd the i would suggest you to take again after preparing well….Well there is another opportunity, you can do MS and try doing phd if time is no bar for your career. Since I also had a less gre score. You can even complete ms in and a half year….if yo are determinant in completing….Even you can get phd admission but you should think whether doing in those univs are worth doing…!!
