my gre score is 1200( q-740, v460) and b.sc -63.8% (civil engineering).my short listed university-

1.University of Illinois at Springfield
2.University of Lamar
3.California State University
4.Louisiana Tech University

can i enlist these university?
can i find scholarship in these university?
for finding scholarship, can i take 2nd attempt?

Hi,

I wrote my GRE on 30th Oct and my split score is Q-800, V-480. AWA is awaited. My TOEFL is 107. I completed my BE in Electronics from Panjab university in 2008 with 69%.
Tenth – 85%
+2 – 85%

Currently posted in Tata consultancy Services since Feb 2009.
I have no papers.
Extra co-curriculars are good.

Please guide me further, what tier and about what type of colleges can i apply for?

I took my GRE a few days back. My score is 1200(verbal:460, quant : 740). I wanted to know if I would get an admission in any of the universities in US. I wanted to do an MS in Image Processing. It would be nice if you could suggest a few universities where I could find this specialisation.

My adviser at Yale University tells me that in the humanities, to be in contention, you have to have at least a 650 verbal. After you hit that threshold it doesn’t matter too much, but this will get you in the door. Another professor of mine said that he has seen a few applicants of people who he really wanted to admit, but their verbal scores were 620 or so, and they just couldn’t do it.

The GRE matters as a threshold, but after that the rest of your application becomes much more important (in the humanities).

I did search the universities’ websites. No information is given on the average acceptable score of GRE. Only one university has listed that the for the year 2007, the average score of admitted students was 747 for quant and 570 for verbal.

That verbal score is way more than mine. I posted here to know if you have any idea how much it will effect my application.
