Adi’s Job Interview Experience
I have been reading this blog since day one and it has been really useful for lots of things. I am a recent Masters graduate from the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Keck School of Medicine of USC.I have been reading articles on job interview tips and resume preparation through this blog and to be very candid its very useful and gives an idea of the actual phenomenon.
So as a reader of this blog I would like to share my experiences in job search. So, me majoring in Molecular biology was looking for jobs in core biotech and bio pharmaceutical companies. I did my masters through research thesis and also had an opportunity to do a summer internship. So, I feel these two and my lab experiences really helped me a lot in fetching me a job.
Job Search Phase
I started my job search from the month of April 2009 and graduated in Summer semester ie., August. I was looking for jobs in good companies both small and big that gave opportunity to learn stuffs and give good experiences. I had few telephone interviews from various companies in and around California. Since I had done my thesis and intern all the question were usually only regarding my thesis and later from my intern. I feel they both were kind of bullet proofs.
To be really true I didn’t have a great GPA but people never questioned me anything about it or asked questions from my course of selections. Everything were strictly from my thesis and research experiences. Later after few months of search I got a telephone interview from a mid-size company called…….Part 2 to be continued…
