Hi HSB ! Is the Computer science GRE Test mandatory for students from CS Background. ? If not will it add some weightage ? again If one flunks it, is it still left to one’s own choice to send the scores apart from regular GRE scores to Univ ?
Hello sir,
I am aiming for University of California,Santa Barbara . I have 7.5 cgpa in my coll acads. I am aiming for 320 iabove in my GRE. How much should i score in my GRE subject test for getting UCA-SB…??(I also wanna know out of how much the scores are evaluvated)
Hi Vijay, 320 on GRE would surely be a good score to target Universities such as UC Santa Barbra. For subject tests, you get a score ranging from 200-990 with 10 point increment scale. A good score on a subject test depends on the subject and Universities you wish to consider. But usually a score close to 85th percentile is considered good. This is just for your reference. There is nothing like a minimum requirement.
All the best!
Hello,
I’m interested in pursuing a Master’s in CS. I have a non-technical background from the University of California in Santa Barbara and graduated in 3 years with a 3.81 GPA. Do you happen to know what my chances of getting into a Masters program are if I do well on the General GRE and the CS GRE?
Thank you!
Subject CS GRE will help and you need to show your interest in CS via college admission essay.
Hi, what schools would you say will consider the GRE if your marks aren’t that high?
Eastern Michigan University
UM-Dearborn
And i asked some universities before applying for their programs and universities told me that they may consider to waive some pre-requisites after seeing my complete application.
one of them is Grand Valley State University.
Thanks Swetha.
And also in many universities if a student take and Pass the GRE computer science subject test, then she is waived out of pre-requisites if her undergrad is from non-computers background
Can you list the name of the schools?
