Changes to GRE in November: Sample Questions

in GRE

Changes to GRE in 2011 – ETS Announced recently.

Changes to the GRE questions from November 2007 is not a complete revamp of GRE exam. New changes are gradually introduced to asses the ability of the students planning to study Graduate courses. Starting in November you will see maximum of one question either in Verbal or Math section. Which means students appearing for Graduate Record Exam will not see more than one question from the new question pattern in GRE.

New questions will not affect your scores. I’m not sure if you guys were aware of the fact during 2002 when I took GRE, before AWA section for 6.0 point came to practice, total GRE score was fro 2400 ( Verbal, Analytical and Quantitative). Actually, I wrote GRE in that pattern where score was for 2400.

But, AWA section was in practice phase. You will usually get one experimental section which will not be evaluated. Which means, some one might have to write 2 Analytical sections, 1 Verbal and 1 Quantitative sections. But, only one Analytical will be evaluated for your final score. But, since AWA was in experimental phase, I had AWA section as experimental.

So, students taking Graduate Record Exam from November will have maximum of one question either from Verbal or Math section. These questions will not be evaluated and will appear in future GRE exams. More information can be found from ETS.org
