in H1B Visa

Yesterday I posted article about new H1B Visa bill to enforce strict hiring rules by banks and companies receiving bailout money from U.S. government. I read that few more changes were made to the final version of the bill. I’m still trying to find more information about the new changes that was added. As soon as I get the updated information, it will be posted here.

More Changes to New H1B Bill

So, keep checking the blog for any latest updates about new H1B Visa Bill. I know many of you are planning to apply for H1b Visa this year – 2009  in April and with new H1B visa strict rules, all the banks that are getting the money will not be able to

  • Hire H1B Visa holders or
  • File H1b Visa for current students working with OPT
  • Will not able to apply for H1b Visa extension for current workers for next 2 years.

H1B Visa is granted for 3 years and after 3 years, you can get extension for another 3 years. But, we have to wait to read the new version of the Bill. Top 12 Banks that are receiving money have applied for more than 21,000 H1b Visa’s in last 6 years.

I want to know about the difference between students who have pursued their MS degree in US and have H1b visa and people coming on H1b visas given by the indian IT companys who have only BE degrees from india. There should be a difference otherwise what is the use of spending so much money on US education.

Why do you think there have to be a difference? Just because you have spent money, it does not make any difference to the company you are going to work. The BE graduate who has experience will bring in more to the company than those who have done Masters in some cheap schools here. These Masters guys are the biggest fakes with cooked resume.
