I strongly suggest to collect all required information about the University before applying based on ranking. that will help you apply in educated way, rater taking your chances with you grad school application. So, dont spend too much time searching for college ranking based on department.

Hello,
Actually, I am in similar situation as mentioned in the article. I want to choose between 2 universities which are Lamar University and University of Texas at Arlington. I want to pursue MS in Mechanical Engineering. Mechanical Department in both the colleges are good but there is difference of ranking Lamar’s ranking is too low comparatively.
Further, Lamar had offered scholarship which means lamar will be cheaper for me. So according to you what decision should I take?
