For F1 visa interview, does a student taking loan have more weightage than own parents funding. Pl. clarify. I got rejected twice for not convincing the v.o for the no. of universities I had applied for. How do I convince her the 3rd time. Can I myself ask politely to give me a chance to clarify the mis conception. Will it work??? Will she think that I am dominating for authoritative.Pl. advice quickly.

There is not much difference between loan and parents funding. Even if you have parents funding, its always good to have loan as backup. I have seen few instances where students applying for visa showing few crores in property getting visa rejected.

Hi,
I got rejected twice for F1 visa. I actually applied to 5 universities and got rejects from two. Got an offer letter from one and the other two, no replies. The first time the counsellor asked me how many universities you applied. I said three. The 2nd time when I went, I was asked how many universities, I had applied. I said five. What I meant was applied for 5, One got accepted and two are pending. I did not mention about the two rejects. There seems to be an misunderstanding. I am applying for the 3rd time. How do I come up with more convincing replies the 3rd time. I don’t have anything new to tell the counsellor. She wants some added information. But I am firm from day one with the same papers/documents and answers. What do I say. Pl. advise soon. I am tensed. Will it go through the 3rd time. Any hopes????

Hey, I have a genuine quandary that I’d appreciate you taking me out of. I am in 8th Semester of B.Sc. Electrical Engineering and I intend to appear for my visa interview in May or June at the latest.

However, my final exam is in june, too. Hence, I will not have course completion or degree certificate or even final transcript for my interview. So, can I just go with 7-semesters’ transcript? What else can I do? I can’t get a course completion certificate since I won’t have completed my courses….

Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

Regards,
Qaiser Habib

Qaiser,

I am in the same scenario as you, I have thought up of my game plan, I have my finals for B,com next month and I am appearing for my interview in the coming days, well before my finals, I had a copy of my curriculum for bcom mailed to my university to which they have awarded me the credit towards an honours degree in business, but if you explain to the VO like this that the university gives credit for course work studied and not for the finals passed he might understand, just let him know that that grades that you will receive will have and impact but the syllabus or course work is what your university has based the transfer credit on.
And I am hoping that you are leaving for Fall 2010 term, so you still have another month or so to get there, just assure the VO that after completing my degree I will also be eligible for an accelerated MBA program in my case and further stuff in yours. :) if this is kinda vague let me know but I tired explaining the best i could :P

Regards
