Hi there, I have had 12 backlogs during my bachelor’s study in India. I’ll be appearing for Visa Interview very shortly, I have prepared well for Visa Interview just one thing is eating me up from inside the question ” Any Backlogs?” from VO.
Though I have had mixed opinions regarding this that I could lie to VO that I had less backlogs like 4 or something or just tell him the truth.
Personally I don’t feel lying to VO to be a right choice and I’m little bit worried about this. Looking forward to your suggestion…

my gre score and toefl scores are 290 and 76 respectively and im having an aggregate of 61% with 2 backlogs(results yet to come).
can i get an admission into oakland university or wayne state university (detroit).. please comment abt this..
if u had more than 1 backlog in a semester… can u treat it as 1 because the only way they can know that i had a backlog is by looking at the date of issue of the mark sheet and it wont tell them anything about the number of backlogs

I have finished my B.tech in 2009 with a % of 59 with 6 backlogs,Having 2.8 yrs of IT experience in a Top MNC.
My GRE : 292 and Toefl : 81…
I have applied for Spring 2013…
Please let me know the possibilities of getting Visa.
its the number of attempts u have given to clear that subject..its not about how many subjects..its all about the attempts u people have made

Actually I completed my B.Tech in 2009 with total 9 backlogs and I have got 58%..with GRE(2009)-800 and TOEFL(2012)-90 score..in 2009 my U.S.visa got rejected for 2 times.. I don’t know what was the reason.. anyway past is past..in 2010 August I went to Sweden to do my masters and was not able to make it due to health issues and came back in 2010 November..was working in small company from that time..since 8 months I am working for Dell..so I am applying for a visa in this September 2012..and my college will start in January..could anyone tell me what will the questions been asked while facing an interview……
Positive: Working for Dell, got a visa and visited another country, got 3 admits
Negative:Low GRE score and low Percentage in B.Tech..
will the questions be related to my work experience or my previous Sweden Visa..If there are any new ideas please share it

backlogs means number of subjects in which one failed irrespective of how many attempts were taken to clear them right??
ya i too have the same doubt … can anyone solve our prlm ????

I had 19 backlogs but i did have a good GRE score(326) and a decent TOEFL score(111). If you’re lucky, they wont ask you about your previous academics. I personally wasn’t so lucky and I had to tell the VO i had 19 backlogs. Everything was going fine till then but sadly, I was rejected.
But I am going to try again.:)

If I were you my friend. I think I will at least show a good-high score in Gre this might elevate the VO that you are only for US just to get a dig at goldmines.I think you must speak lucidly and confidently you don’t want to get caught by VO and be stamped as Potential Immigrant.
Just be Optimistic think how you should tackle this problem if VO asks you the reason behind backlogs….are u good in co-circular activities highlight the part were you are really good at…like you helped some NGO or bcos of extra circular activites and so on…don’t give lame excuses.So good luck…
dont lie let whatever happen. if u tell the truth there will be atleast a chance that u will be given a visa but if u r caught then forget any chance of getting into US
i know a guy, a bca from ip uni, who’s got 30 backlogs ( he’s fondly known as “backlog ka dukan” ) – and guess what? he’s preparing for ndsu-fargo. now, he might be hopelessly optimistic, but that’s not the point – the message’s there will be always worse ( and better ) cases. we need to motivate ourselves by trying to look stuffs from a different angle. hope this helps and cheers you up!
