Thanks to Vijay for sharing his F1 Visa interview for PhD at Chennai Consulate for Fall 2012.
Hi Guys,
I would like to extend my thanks to this blog in assisting for F1 VISA interview preparation.
I got a overall idea about the interview and experiences shared by members really helped me to face the interview with confidence.
I applied for the interview on 27th of April 2012 at Chennai consulate for Fall 2012. It was really a thrilling experience for me. This is how the interview went.
Me : Good morning sir (With smile)
Visa Officer : Good morning. Asked for I-20.
Types something in computer.VO: Whats your under graduation?
Me: I saidVO: Whats your post graduation?
Me: I saidVO: Why did you select this course?
Me: Said (I Consider this answer helped me to obtain the VISA)VO: Your VISA is approved and you will get it in a week time
Me: Thank you very much sir.
Was about to scream. But somehow managed to control myself.
One thing I learned before interview was that one should stay confident whole through his/her interview process. VO looks for legitimate reason which will be exposed through our body language.
Still having lot of stuffs to share. Hoping to share in near future.

Congrats to Vijay.
But, would all the experience shared in this blog have been helpful, if eveyone posted “I said” as the answers in their Student visa interview experience.
I really don’t understand why folks who get value from previously shared F1 Visa interview experiences don’t want to add value by sharing their experience.
If you don’t want to share your name of the univeristy is totally fine, but “I said” i snot going to help others much.
Please try to share the answers to your visa interview questions.

N YEA…THNX A LOT HSB.. SUCH A GR8 INFO IS BEIN SHARED ACROSS !!!!
what are the documents that is required for sponsoring a student visa?
Hi…..I got an issue of i20,wonder whether anyone can advice me. I have received an i20 from a university……but the start date of the course is 26th may…..which has passed now. Can i go for interview with the same i20 but with an extension letter from theuniversity which Is 1st of July or do I have to apply for new i20.
Thank you.
Wow vijay, too informative.Going for PHD .Thatz cool..
When I saw the update about this post in HSB, I really expected to get some info on how to convince the V.Os that we really deserve to obtain a US VISA…But I am not so satisfied with the information Vijay has provided. I feel like I’ve stopped reading a book abruptly or something of severe disappointment. Please , please and please , Vijay, post the proper info about the questions you were asked and the replies you gave. You already got your VISA and it wouldn’t harm you if anyone takes inspiration from your replies and put it in their own words! And HSB, please please please, notify Vijay about the corrections needed, till he would respond and make the required corrections OR please delete this post, as it is not of much use if one’s expecting to get some pointers on how to attend a VISA interview OR please put this post in a different group other than “F1 VISA INTERVIEWS EXPERIENCES” like “HOW NOT TO SHARE YOUR VISA INTERVIEW EXPERIENCES IN HSB!”…. And, Congrats Vijay! May all your dreams come true!
I agree with everyone word..bcoz saying simply i said….does not pay much attention..when it clearly tells that he got a visa….but whole intention is to know the answers given by you to the VO…so please dont mind..if possible let us know the answers…they might help us…
HSB is right. You should write down the complete experience of interview what the questions were, how you tacklec them, what is the response of VO and all other necessery things if you are writing about visa interview experience, You should not simply say ‘I said’ and approved.. then its better not to write .. !!!!!!
Such a joke! How come HSB allow this kinda interview?Wasting thousands of others time!
Dude, come on you are not sharing a trade secret or leaking out a rocket science innovation
“Still having lot of stuffs to share. Hoping to share in near future.”
You have already shared so much experiences in one post that we are unable to digest it. May be you can write a book on your experiences and copyright it very soon.
wel said
I assume Vijays F1 Visa interview experience is pretty normal and based on the experience we all have gathered by visiting HSB , we all are pretty aware of the questions thats gonna pop up at interview but the challenge is proper answer to those questions , So , I would request on behalf of HSB community to share the answers posted on the interview so that we all can implement it and successfully come out with flying colors… Congrats Vijay ….
Thank you Vijay. The information which you have provided is going to help the generations to come. I don’t know how all of us HSB readers can pay you back. May God bless you

Thank you all and GOD and everyone. Hope this post helps everyone. Thank you all. Off to USA.
I am sorry this is a common protocol accross all interview .. Haahah
“I SAID”. LOL. That’s going to be my punch line for a few days now.
LOL!!
I second HSB, this is a ridiculous post. Just wasting everyone’s time. This post only says “I got the Visa Easily” in so many words.
Another interview experience with “I SAID”
Yeah, I agree with HSB! Unless the information being shared/question asked is too personal, I don’t understand why people hesitate to share the answers they gave to those questions.
comeon man, after all u r jst giving the questions asked, here all know the possible questions gonna be asked,.,.
what matters is the answers to these questions!!
congrats vijay and all the very best
i’m applying for a student visa,i want to know what are the documents that I need to show it to the US embassy?
