Got my visa on dec 28th to Western Michigan University.
1st and 2ns F1 Visa was rejected at Hyderabad consulate (Nov 16th, Dec 7th), this is the 3rd time @ Kolkata.

me: gave ,including my b-tech provisional,long memo,convocation and individual
mark sheets (actually he asked b-tech certificates ,so gave those also) .
VO: how did u select dis univesity?
me: i had interact with my ug proff ,and also consult with alumni students and current students who are studing in us by sharing my profile and course interest, from their Suggestions i went through websites, i had select dis university.
VO: did u applied for any other univ?
me: applied for 5 univ’s and admitted into 4 univ’s (said those 4)
VO: ( he went inside for few seconds…) whats ur father?
me: he is central govt employee working in ‘singareni coal mines company limited’ for the past 26 years..
Vo: how did u support ur education ?
Me: my family total savings amounts upto 22L ,even i have an education loan of 12L as well…
Vo: (again went inside discuss with colleague..) do u hav siblings?
me: i have one elder brd ,he is working in HSBC as a software engg, which is located in hyd..
Vo: (typed something into computer by seeing my i20)….ok sir im issuing ur visa, have a nice day
me: thanku sir..thanku very much……
on 29th i went to VFS office and i collect my passport their itself…29th night
i was returned to hyderabad…

what are the chances of getting an approval for visa in kolkata consulate for us

i also got rejected two times (july 20th and august 2nd) at hyd for f1 visa .I have already done my masters(M.pharmacy) and now i applied for M.S. chemistry.My sister is on OPT in U.S.These things i told in my both interviews. My GRE is 288/340 and TOEFL is 71.They din’t even ask about my financial docs etc…..but rejected me under 214(b). I am not sure about the perfect reason and this time i want to attend at chennai but i have one doubt. If VO asks me why did u come here from hyd what should i say ? will it be a problem? Actually urs is also same case and u got at kolkata without that question.And onemore doubt is there any problem with double masters?

i applied for F1 Visa and my university is VIU. I’ve gone for Am interview once and while being interviewed, i was tensed and not even prepared When the VO threw me the question about the numbers of school i applied into. I couldn’t really say but what came out of my mouth is Harvard. Immediately i said that she asked me why i chose VIU over Harvard and i knew I’m finished cos Harvard have always been my dream and its one of the best compare to VIU that just came into existence in 98. I reapply and now i need help for well preparation befor i go back there on 18th of April and i need some1 to tell me what chance I’ve of getting the Visa.

On my first f1 interview i told VO that i applied in 4 universities i.e., Pittsburg State U, Arkansas State U, Devry U,and Oklahoma city U. and my visa got rejected because i think Oklahoma city U is not at all good for visa approval So can I say that i applied in 3 universities only. So i’m just asking do they have any records.
helo friend do anybody clear by doubt…..i have rejected two times for f1 visa at hyderabad on 22nd nov and 15th december. so what to do next i am planning to go to chennai for the third time, they didnt ask me much more question so that i can convince them,first time VO ask only about the %,GRE,IELTS and which university and 2nd time VO knws all the information that i have reported in first interview and just VO say i have to satisfy with the previous officer and rejected, i dont know actually what is running in their minds, first time iam little nervous and 2nd time iam with a well confident but again got rejected………please sujjest me weather i have to go to chennai or apply in hyderabad. thank you …………….have a nice day……

Hi frnds plz dont go to kolkata. They are not issuing visa for hydies bcz on 28,29 july almost all f1 visa are rejected including me and my other six frnds. Fuck of kolkata us embasy and their visa
can anyone opt for other consulate?like m from west region so hav to go for mumbai….can i go for kolkata?
I also got admission in Gannon university. they waived the GRE requirement for me since I was applying for a second master’s. but i only applied to this university. i’m going to the visa interview in two weeks. shall i apply to other more popular universities, get another admit and postpone the interview for spring term, instead of going to Gannon? any comments please?

Apply in your state only, don’t go for other state. They have devided consulates accoridng to the states.

Its embassy in new delhi and consulates-general in mumbai, kolkata, chennai and hyderabad will now accept applications from across the country at all visa facilities, regardles of the applicant's home address or city of residence, says an embassy release. According to embassy officials the, applications can be submitted at any location and interview dates sought at an alternative mission if date availability at the "home" centre is inconvenient. @pavan…u told u choose ur state of residence as west bengal….were u really from bengal else u have choosen west bengal for da sake of appointment..because mine is da same case rejected twice in 8 days gap in hyd now want to appear in different sate as it would take centuries for hyd dates to get open under general category…

PAVAN, LIKE EVEN I HAVE REJECTED TWICE IN HYDERABAD, AND THIRD TIME I WAS REJECTED IN MUMBAI. I HAVE CHOOSEN MUMBAI BECAUSE IT HAS TWICE REJECTED DATS, SO AS U SAID NORMAL DATES ARE EASILY AVAILABLE AT KOLKATTA, SO CAN I CHOSE NORMAL DATES THAT IS NOT TWICE REJECTED.
if u rejected twice or more times, u need to wait for those dates only at kolkata…
@Pavan .I have a doubt when u have been rejected twice at hyderabad… how Can u get ur interview at kolkata for the third time.?And when ur applying for third time it shows only the dates in ur state of residence…How is it possible applying for kolkata help me out na?

A backlog cleared or not shall be treated as one! Rejection doesn't solely depend upon how many backlogs you have neither does it completely depend upon your GRE/TOEFL score. Confidence and the tone at which you talk speaks for themselves of how willing you are and what can you achieve after going there. Go ahead and put your best foot forward. All the best
hey Raj!!! dont worry you will get through the interview. It is very simple, u just need to stay confident. Firstly, make sure all your paper work is in place. Then prepare for questions that are generally asked. like why only this university, why Masters, or why less marks(acads) .there are only two main reasons to reject a visa. one being lack of financial standing, two being the lack of intent to come back to India. make sure you dont hint on anyof this when you answer. good luck .>

Because i do have less percentage . I think dis is only reason for my rejections ..
1st two interviews went only within 10 seconds at hyd. they just ask me about % and BL..
so i decided to book visa slot at Kolkata for d 3rd time…

so i didn't have another chance at Hyd . thats y i booked at Kolkata .
For Kolkata no need to go for emergency slots. we can get normal dates easily.

There's an added advantage for me through the organisation OUCIP. All the visa officers come there regularly to give some sorta lectures and what not to do in a visa interview. Pavan you could've tried them. Who were the interviewers in hyderabad btw?
less % is one of reason & lack of confidence in first 2 attempts . , i must say confidence will play main role..

At kolkata F1 applicants are less .,Visa officer gave me gud time time to explain the answers., my interview went for 4 minutes at kolkata. he didnt askd me about %ge and Backlogs . i can say he just check my confidence .,1st two interviews rejected due to lack of confidence …
