I have visa interview on 18th June and have prepared my answers for some visa question. it would be a great help if you have a look at it and give me you valuable feedback. please suggest me any other questions i am required to prepare for my interview. thanks in advance.
1. Why do you want to study in the US? Why not Europe or India.
I want to study in USA because biotechnology curriculums in universities of USA are advanced and most updated. Universities have great research facilities. Also education system is USA is based on practical approach and aimed to make you time efficient and developing managerial skill.
2. If you are not currently employed, explain what reasonable job prospects you believe you will have upon your return from the US.
Upon my return from US, i would be able to work in top pharmaceutical and biotechnology company in india .
Or
upon my return from USA, i would be setting up my own firm based on biotechnological products.
3. Why this particular college?
I chose Georgetown University as it offers a curriculum that reflects the multidisciplinary nature of Biotechnology. It integrate science courses with an emphasis on business and law tracks. Also, Georgetown university give me opportunity to complete my MS in 1year duration .this would save me 1 year as most MS program in US are of 2 years. Moreover, Georgetown university is high research funding university and is ranked 22nd according to US news and ranking
4. Which universities did you apply to? Why did you choose those schools? (Make sure you know about the schools you apply to and their requirements for admission)
I applied to Georgetown University, George Washington university, nyu poly, northeastern university, Rutgers university and CSU Fullerton i applied to all these university because these university started new program called professional science masters. It’s a techno commercial program which contains both core science module as well as business modules.
5. What will you do after you complete your program of study in the US?
After the completion of my program i would like to get practical training during my OPT tenure. After that i would be coming back to India and setting up biotechnology based firm
6. Why don’t you want to study in your own country?
Most of the biotechnology master’s programs in India are technical and research oriented program. They don’t cover management and law module. As i am looking for setting up biotechnology firm in india it is essential for me to have good hold on all aspects of biotechnology. Thats why i choose usa over india.
7. Why do you want to do Masters at this point of time?
As I wanted to set up my biotechnology firm right after my UG. I did market analysis and found out that I have to be abreast with latest advancement in term of technology and also understand business of biotechnology before taking risk of setting my own firm. All These objective can be accomplished by pursuing Masters .
