Hello people. I am presently a student of BITS, Pilani. I am in my second year and studying my B.E. (Hons.) in Electronics and Instrumentation along with M.S. (Hons.) in Mathematics. I have been visiting this blog since the beginning of this semester. I might not have read all the posts but I did not find any post mentioning anything about the university where one did his B.E. or B.S. I am not doing very well in my studies presently I have a C.G.P.A. of 7 on a scale of 10. I did two robotics projects, decent ones (automated multi-robot systems and Image Processing) and doing another under the guidance of a prof. I wish to study robotics from a good university.

My question is if I continue doing projects and do well in GRE will that fetch me a good M.S. despite of my just above average academics?

One more thing, how much will my university help in my application, do all universities after IITs are the same?

Will my M.S. in Mathematics help in any way, like getting a part-time job or anything?

Waiting for a reply.

Hello guys,

Am an BE undergraduate student. Due to many personal problems, i have not been able to score a good percentage. Its around 55% as of now. Am in my final year.

To add to this, i have lost 2 years (due to the same problems). This doesn't mean am a weak-in-studies student. Am good at the technical aspects of my subjects. Have won many local programming contests(around 10-15). Haven't been able to make a big success in the extra curriculum(same reasons). Have been the publicity director, secretary of the IEEE student branch here.

Have completed a project other than the curriculum specified. The project was an implementation of our own idea.

I have a good score in GRE, i.e. 1540(740+800).
Luckily my personal problems have ended. So, i can dedicate time for the things i want to pursue.

How well are my chances of gettin into a good university?

thank u in advance.

P.S. please bear with the elaborate question.

Hi all,

I just gave the Gre exam and scored 1300(quant-750,verbal-550). I would be applying for a MS in Telecommunications which of course comes under the EEE department.I have 1 year of relevant work experience,71.64% aggregate in my B.E(Telecommunications),have 1 international paper published in related field,1 award winning project in my B.E and also will manage to get decent Lor's and Sop. I am aiming at the following universities and similar ones:

University of Texas,Dallas
North Carolina State University
Rutgers University
Arizona State University and more

Can someone tell me if my score is good enough to apply to these universities to get an acceptance and to some extent even aid or scholarship, or is it better to improve the Gre score by giving it again.

Regards,
Rajat Agarwal.

What do u think of a score of 1150?
the score 1150 includes 350 verbal and 800 quants.
Is it worth neglecting the verbal part and just concentrating on quantitative part to get such a score?
the requirements for various programs are different.
regarding MS program, do they concentrate on quants scores or the complete GRE?
