Improving Economy?

Increase in H1B Visa 2010 petitions is very good indication of improving economy. At this rate, H1B Cap for FY 2010 will be filled by Jan 2010.

My H1B visa (& I-94 status) is expiring end of this month. My employer will file the new extension next week, via courier, so with 2 weeks before the expiration. If the approval comes after the expiration, like next month will I still maintain status owing to the filing date?? In other words, is the courier date enough to keep me in status since the documents would be mailed before the visa expiration date?? Please advise.
