H1B Receipt Number

If you haven’t received the receipt number for your H1B Visa Petition for 2010, it could be one of the following reasons

  1. USCIS haven’t processed your H-1B Petition
  2. USCIS sent receipt number to the Attorney, but Attorney haven’t sent it to the employer.
  3. Attorney sent it to employer, but haven’t the Employer haven’t informed you.
  4. Employer received the H-1B receipt number, but you haven’t checked with your employer.
  5. Employer have the receipt number and not willing to give it to you.

When Will USCIS Send Receipt Number

If you look at latest H1B Receipt Number, it will have Received date of April 7, 2009 and Recipt Notice Date of late in April ( Like April 22, 2009). So, chances are your case is not yet processed by USCIS. Best youc an do is follow others who have submitted the Petition in H1B Visa 2010 Processing Time Tracker and post your status too and keep positive thoughts and wait. In mean time if there is any update from USCIS, it will be updated here. Be sure to read why H1B Receipt number alone will not help you check H1B Status Online.

If you were not selected for lottery in 2008, then application fee has been return.

Please don’t use upper case.

Hi. the company I’m currently working for filed my H1B petition last year. I’m just waiting for its approval. But every time I check my status through the USCIS website it says ” pending adjustment of status.” how long before my application can be approved? its been close to a year now. Your feedback will be most appreciated. thanks.

Just asked my employer whether she has received anything from the Attoney. She did received the I-129 Receipt Notice. I went to USCIS to check the processing time. For H1B- Change of Status, the estimated processing time is 2 months – a long wait.

i am a Philippine-US registered nurse, is there a big chance that i can work in US thru H 1b visa??? please give me details how thanks…

Hi frank lim! As far as i know, nurses are not classified as a bachelors degree in the US. You can practice as a nurse in the US even after finishing a 2 yr course for that. For h1b, one requirement is that the course should be a bachelors degree equivalent in the US. I do not know if there are exemptions to this rule. You can try eb3 visa.. i just don’t know how that works.

Many registered nurses from Canada are working in US.
They do hold H1B visas.
Google for “registered nurse H1B” and you will find a lot of info.
Good luck.

Even I have not received the receipt number. I have applied under general category. This puts a question in my mid if my attorney has filed my H1B or not. Is there any way that I get to know this OR shall I assume that USCIS has not looked in my petition yet…

No such a thing as last day for receipt numbers. USCIS will process all cases.

I called them before, they said 30 days after you submit ur application, if you haven’t receive anything after that, call them.

My company filed mine under General Cap. I haven’t heard anything yet from the attoney. Are you sure we can check in after 30 days? What is the number if you have it?

Reply

25 Carol May 5, 2009 at 11:52 AM

The number is shown on their website, 1-800-375-5283, follow the instruction and talk to a representor. Last time I call them, that was the 28th day, and they told me I have to allow 30 days for process. And I receive it at exactly the 30th day!!! >_<
