USCIS has announced that on April 7, it would stop accepting applications for H1B non-immigrant visas for the fiscal beginning October 1. Within a day or two of this deadline, USCIS is expected to conduct a computerized draw of lots to decide among the applicants who would get the H1B visa.
Students currently in OPT can extend the OPT period to another 17 months adding to 29 months of total OPT. that came as much welcome, for some students if they happen not to get H1B Visa approval through the lottery system. Students who are graduating cannot apply for 29 months OPT, its can be applied only as extension by paying additional fee.
