H1B Visa 2010 – Latest Cap Count – Aug 28, 2009
By HSB On September 8, 2009;
As of August 28, 2009, approximately 45,100 H-1B cap-subject petitions and approximately 20,000 petitions qualifying for the advanced degree cap exemption had been filed. USCIS will continue to accept both cap-subject petitions and advanced degree petitions until a sufficient number of H-1B petitions have been received to reach the statutory limits, taking into account the fact that some of these petitions may be denied, revoked, or withdrawn.
Previous H1B Update was on Aug 19, 2009.

Hi Kumar,
Can you let me know through which consultant you applied?
I am having hard time finding sponsors. It would be great if you could pass on the contact details of your sponsor.
Thanks,
Kunal
Hi,
I am planning to apply for H1B by Oct 15. When is the cut-off date for applying H1B? I read somewhere that September is the last month to fill petition for H1B? Is that true?
Can I apply till the CAP reaches its limit?
Hi,
from what i understand, the last month would be indeed september, because October is the beginning of the new fiscal year, and the H1B allowance resets again with it.
Also its not cumulative, so there wouldn’t be more available visas for next fiscal year other than the usual count.
im not sure if you try to apply Oct.
maybe someone else can tell you.
There is no deadline to apply for H1B. As long as quota is available you can apply anytime of the year.
Is that really true. I’ve heard the deadline is October since that starts the new fiscal year.
