My recipt date is on April 16th (Regular processing, Master, Vermont), but my status still shows as Initial Review.. I had my attoney follow up with USCIS on Aug 10th… still haven’t heard anything as of today, Aug 18th. I just don’t understand why they are being so slow on reviewing the cases…. My attoeny says its really slow this year.. Anybody on same boat??

Hi HSB,
My employer has filed H1b for me. My receipt date was on april 13. But still my I129 petition status shows as INITIAL REVIEW(applied at VSC). But for my colleagues for whom it was filed along with me, most of their online case status is been updated as “Post decision activiy” and their approval notice has been sent one month back(during june 17 times). Does USCIS update its online case status immediately. Also why is this delay in the processing time though the USCIS site mentions the processing time as 2 months.

D,

My receipt date was 9th of Apr’2010 (California centre). I received my approval on the 14th of june (just over 2 months) and the Visa stamping was at Chennai on the 23rd of July. Please go for the visa interview as soon as possible as the dates get filled up pretty soon….Moreover, you can plan your immigration to the US in the coming months

My received date shows April 7th and my status online still shows “Initial Review” ( Vermont, Masters, Regular processing). I have no idea why there is a huge delay considering that the volume of petitions this year is small compared to previous years. If I had a premonition of this delay, I would have gone ahead with the Premium processing!

Hurray!!! great news! My application was approved today! I contacted my lawyer yesterday to ask if she had heard any news and she said no, so she called USCIS today to inquire on the case status. USCIS told her that she would get a feedback in 2 weeks, this afternoon the case status changed to Post Decision activity and it was approved!

If your case still shows “Initial Review” after 3 months, contact ur lawyer and have them call USCIS to inquire, they’ll act!

Good Luck to everyone!

This is applicable to everyone who recd. their approvals (I-797):

You can apply for a VISA as soon as the petition gets approved. This information is from the consulates at Delhi and Chennai: ” H1b visa interview dates cannot be fixed before start of employment (Oct. 1st). That means, anytime after July 1st 2010, you can fix an appointment with the local consulate.”

I went with my wife and kid on the 23rd of July, didnt ask me too many Q’s other than the name of the company, what salary am I expecting and my wife was asked to produce the marriage certificate. It lasted less than a minute, and the VISA WAS APPROVED!!

Good Luck to every1 out there….It’s just a matter of time before all of you will be on the same boat.
