Game over - USCIS completed mailing H1B Visa receipts

June 12, 2008 by Raghuram

I read from couple of sources that USCIS have started sending the mails with Receipt Number on May 24 2008 and they have completed sending H1B Visa Receipt Number for H1B Visa Applicants selected in lottery.

Also, USCIS completed mailing the receipts as per previously established deadline of June 2 and they started sending the applications that were not selected in lottery from this week. So, by end of this month, all the unlucky H1B Visa applications will be mailed to the concerned Attorneys office. Hard luck guys this time. You can read more about this official notification at Immigration-Law.com

I have read so many comments about students, professional who have applied for H1B Visa and few were lucky to get through and many weren’t lucky enough. Some of them weren’t lucky enough for 2 times and also few had applied for 2-3 positions, but couldn’t make it. Once, I have official PDF document from USCIS, I will upload it here. In coming days, I will explore about other options available for those who didn’t make it in the lottery process.

I have a receipt number back from April 30 from my employer, forwarded by the attorney, but the status has always been ‘Case received and pending’ on USCIS website after since.

No update from the attorney, and no document sending from USCIS.

Does it mean I got selected, or what?

    Any comment?

My Case is still showing “Received and Pending” even tough cases within the same Service Center California and bearing a number that is after me have been processed and approvl status reflected..
    DOes this mean anything negative??

@Ankit - my case was process in California Service Center, received the receipt number on April 28, been ‘received and pending’ until 16 June.

    Give it more time.
