Harvard Business School (HBS) have created a new 2+2 program. Its innovative program to attract students who are studying Bachelors Degree.

Harvard Business School has opened the doors on an innovative new program. It’s called HBS 2+2: two years of work, then two years of immersion in the Harvard Business School MBA Program. Arrive with potential and passion. Leave with impressive, practical tools for success.

How Does it Work

Graduate college > Work 2 years > HBS 2 years > Earn MBA

Apply to MBA when you are studying Bachelors Degree, you can get admitted to the program then work for 2 years, come back to school to study MBA.  Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or Graduate Record Examination (GRE) taken 7/1/04, or later is required. So, the good news is HBS accepting GRE. So, they can attract many students to apply for the program.

You can find more details about the program from HBS 2+2 Website. In the previous article MBA To Be or Not To Be, Ganesh had talked about the importance of Work experience to get accepted into MBA Program in top Business School. HBS make it clear by this 2+2 program. They require atleast 2 years work experience, so students will know the corporate world. When they study Business Courses, they will be able to associate the ideas to situation faced in work environment.

Time line for 2+2 Application

You can apply for the program when you are in 3rd year Year of 4 Year College or end of 3rd Year. You will get to know if you are admitted to the program before end of your College (4th Year). Work 1 Year, then attned summer HBS program, then back to work for second year. After 2 years, you can come back to HBS to start MBA program. Usually it takes 2 years to complete MBA. thats how the name 2+2 MBA Program.

The program has three main benefits to consider: one, it’s an ideal time to apply during your undergraduate years; two, it offers superior access to job recruiting and career advice; and three, it provides students with extra preparation in leadership and practical business skills.
