I Want Admission in Universities With Scholarship

in College Admission

us-universities

This article is in response to an email I received. Problem is that, most of the students assume,  universities can be selected based on the types of scholarship they provide and amount of money that will be paid.

Question

I am going to apply for Spring 2010 in USA. Can you refer me some universities where i can get RA (and TA too) for sure. I Want Admission in Universities With Scholarship (BEST if with TA).

Its good to see someone taking time to send email to get help. I appreciate that, but they keep neglecting the fact that US Universities cannot be selected based on the above criteria. According to Opendoors – only 30% of students get some form of aid. About 70% end up paying fees from their savings, loan or parents fund.

If someone have enough academic credentials, Universities will give scholarship. Not the other way around. To put in simple terms

  • Good Academic Profile = High Chance to get Scholarship
  • Not so good academic profile = Very low chances to get Financial Aid (almost nil)

Above formula applies when you are applying for admission. After you come to the University, you can work with a professor, impress them with your skills. They will consider you for RA/TA or just scholarship.

Can you refer me to Universities where I can get RA ? I Want Admission in Universities With Scholarship (BEST if with TA).

No, I cannot. I can suggest some schools based on your profile, but that’s about it. Scholarship and Financial Aid depends on the  aspects of your academic profile and will be decided by the admission committee. That’s the same reason, I suggest students to follow 12 Step University Selection process. But, most of them avoid it. Because it’s time consuming and answers are not available immediately.

There is no single submit button, where you can enter your profile and click submit to get list of universities that will give scholarship with admission. It takes hard work, time and effort. You spend time to find information about admission and more information you have, better the chance to get some form of Financial Aid.

I am in 2nd year right now. My question- is it possible to get scholarship with 1 backlog(chemistry 1-cleared in 2nd attempt) in the 1st semester of BE-CIVIL(Mumbai University) with an aggregate of say 71% in BE,
10th-82.13%
12th-78.33% maths-89%
If yes then what is the minimum GRE score should i get to pursue MS in structures with scholarship??
Also what is the right time to give GRE if i want to start my MS just after my BE?

For GRE Score 910 admission with scholarship is ruled out. You can get only into low ranked schools.

17 International Scholarship April 10, 2009 at 11:41 AM

It’s ironic that for years, international students have anxiously awaited the results of their H1B applications, and now there are so few jobs that the cap hasn’t even been met yet! We in the field of international education are stunned by this development—while it’s great for international students, we wish there were the jobs available to go along with it! Luckily, students who are just beginning their studies will benefit from a better economy when they graduate, unlike students who are graduating now.
