Laptop Can Be Searched for P*rngraphy While Entering U.S.

Almost everyone carry some from of electronic devices during travel and TSA will ask to remove laptop from the bag and run through the scanner during airport security clearance while traveling from or within United States. While entering U.S. in Customs, your laptop and other electronic devices can be searched for contents. Here’s an excerpt from Murthy.com

… laptop of a traveler and discovered images of what appeared to be child pornography. The laptop was seized and a warrant obtained. The individual was charged with various crimes related to transporting and possessing child p*rnography.

Individuals crossing U.S. borders need to be aware that their computers, other electronic devices, and documents can be searched by the CBP. Travelers need to know what is on their computers and consider those contents as an open book to CBP when traveling… read rest of the story

Pirated Software

I have seen students ask questions about carrying pirated software’s copies with them while entering U.S. reading correctly from what happenedd in the laptop search, I strongly suggest not to take any risk.

Students can get all required software for very cheap in their college. Microsoft and other companies have alliance with each university. I got student licensed copy of Windows XP for $5, Microsoft Office XP for $20 in Campus Computer Store. If I were you, I will not try to save $25 and risk my entry in to U.S.
