People With Emotional Issues Cannot Survive in USA. We have discussed several posts about how Foreign education will make you grown emotionally in Why international Students are unique. But, its not always possible for everyone to overcome such emotions.
Following comment was posted at Student Life is difficult, I’m returning to India.
Hey Folks,
I think its too late to response for the above post, but i have read this for the first time and could recollect all my memories from long back.Going to USA was my dream. As soon as i completed my post graduation in India i started all the prep and landed in USA. For the only cause of less fees i opted a remote university where i could found only one Indian student in the complete university, it was a nightmare since we could hardly find a person walking on the streets and as said by “A” there was no public transportation. But before i could experience all those problems i returned back to India.
Later i was depressed b/c i felt i missed a life time opportunity, so with the professors help i could go to USA for the next semester and the disgusting thing is i returned back to India for the second time just within four days.So later i could understand that people with emotional issues like me cannot survive not just in USA but not in any foreign country.
Thanks
Its good that you made an effort to come back, but it life in USA is tough to digest, then there is nothing you can do about. You just have to be satisfied with the decision you made.
When selecting universities you have to make sure there is good social life and I just happened go write about importance of selecting universities with good social life in upcoming new ebook.
Unfortunately i think homesickness was the main reason, anyway no regrets now.It was Tarleton State University, but i guess by now,it is populated with Indian student
Your story was not one of the quintessential wonder stories that we see in movies "going abroad and making it big ". I am myself in Canada studying and working and completely understand what u mean by starving yourself ,but I want to say that you are one those brave men who has come forward and shared his story irrespective of thinking that people are going to judge you
Your whole life is ahead of you .You might have come back to India but you have brought all those life changing experiences with you .Forget about the salary being 30,000 now .I have seen people working on 15,000 have now been sent to foreign countries for projects and stuff and earning in dollars
So ,suck it up bro and move ahead in life .I am sure you will do good !!
Very good thoughts. Life is hard and one has to suck it up and take up challenges.
what crap!
I have been living in the US for almost 9 years now. I would say that there are a lot of communities that people can be involved in. Churches that people can go to are many, and a lot of them have small groups in which anyone can be involved in to meet people and to be involved in fun and productive activities. You could check Lakewood Church website as an example. The link is here:

Best wishes in the US and please feel free to shoot me an email if you have any questions. My email address is: [email protected].

When is the e-book going to be out? Any date? I am eager to buy it
Looking forward!
It must have been really hard for you to go again to the US only to return back in four days, but why blame yourself for it??? maybe the reasons for your returning had nothing to do with your emotions. I seriously doubt homesickness would have bben the reason since if that was the case you would have never returned to the US again.
Perhaps some other reason(The University, people, or something else must have been the reason).
Waiting to hear from you about the reason for your returning.
I think everybody has some emotional issues. especially Indians…
Hello All,
Yes, life in U.S can be emotionally challenging, but there is a solution for everything. Most of the students in India, are not formally trained on coping up with dealing with psychological turmoil. If students get empowered with the right psychological skills to deal with the possible emotional issues that they will have to face, once in a foreign, then there is nothing to fear. They can consult a psychological counselor and know the scientific steps in overcoming any emotional issues that they may face. Indian students are smart and are hardworking and if emotional issues are holding them back then we have to offer solutions and encourage them to pursue their dreams and make India proud.

Hi, I know this question is out of context, but you mentioned "For the only cause of less fees i opted a remote university where i could found only one Indian student in the complete university, it was a nightmare". Can you name the University please where there is only one Indian Student? So that others will think before applying to this university. Thanks.
