    • Hi Vasundhara, There is no such minimum undergrad percentage for visa purpose. If you get an admission offer from a University you can apply for a visa undoubtedly. But yes as academic performance is an admission criteria, keep yourself on toes each semester for the best outcome. Besides this complete your college projects sincerely.
      All the best!

    Sir,
I am a B. Pharm student from India. I am in 3rd year now and I have already started my preparation for GRE. Could you please help me to know the Top Ranking colleges in US so that I’d be able to do my MS in Pharmaceutics, along with fee structure and pre-requisites. I’d also like to know the scope of doing MS in Pharmaceutics from US rather than pursuing M. Pharma from my country in ceutics.
    Thankyou.

  9. Rajesh Kotha says:

    Hi,

I am a member of this blog since 2 years, but now I am about to ask a question for the first time. This is because; I could not face with my previous GRE score. Now after 2 years I got a reasonable score.

I did B.Pharmacy in 2006 from an affl college of JNTU, Hyd. Then I did M.Pharma from Sri Venkateswara University campus, Tirupati. I am trying to get PhD admission in pharmaceutical sciences or Pharmacology in a nice university in abroad (preferably US) with scholarship.

I know only my percentage as I can’t convert them in GPA. I got 70% in B.Pharm and 75% in M.Pharm. Now GRE in revised is 304 (148 in verbal and 156 in Quants) and when I convert by ETS GRE concordance scale score fell around 1140 (420 verbal and 720 Quants) in older format. I’ve around 2.5 years of expereince (1yr 3 months as lecturer, 7 months in govt. organization and now 9 months of experience in pharmacovigilance till date).

I don’t have any research publications yet. My question to HSB is can I get admission for PhD in US. I don’t have any particular university of interest. I am concerned about two things. First Scholarship (as I can’t afford study there without this) and research of my interest (I can compromise in this).

Please respond as soon as possible, whether I can apply with this score or do I need to try to improve my score further.

    Thanks
    Rajesh kotha

I graduated fron a Nigerian University with a GPA of 4.81 and my GRE score is 1150 (verbal-570 and quantitative-580). sir, i wnt an instititution where i can get a full schorlarsip.

  20. hi… recently i have given my gre exam and i got 1030 i.e 590 in verbal and 440 in quant..so i wanna know whether i could get a good university in pharmacy stream for doing my ms ?? another question is will the universities consider the verbal score also as i scored well in that , basing on this verbal score cn i be able to get a good university ?? i have a cgpa of 9.26 in my bpharmacy. pls do reply me kindly.

    • hi gayathri..even my scre is 1030..iam applyng fr the unvrsts..i cld nt gv gre again..

    • Hi gayatri,

I have given my gre and i got 1100. I t’s not possible to get a good university with a score of 1030 because every university has a minimum cut off of 1150 to 1250 to pursue MS course in our field.
You can apply for chemistry and then change to a good university after completing a semester.
Admission will be based on your academic performance. If you need to get into Pharmaceutics or Pharmacology programs you need to have a good score (1300 or above). Even my applications got rejected inspite having a score of 1100. No university offers admission based on individual scores in GRE. Your english proficiency is based on TOEFL and its better if you get a score above 100 to get an admission in a good college. I have given my Gre again and got a score of 1240. So, I advice you to give your GRE again if possible else go for chemistry or analytical chemistry.

    • Y don’t you give ur GRE again and apply for fall 2012. It’s quite easy to score 650+ in quant ( even for a life science student). 590 in verbal is cool. If u cud get 650+ in quant u will have a fair chance.
