Everyone easily says dont come but if they get chance, then never let it go. i have never heard that they harrass us.

@Balaji – Bang on right points. But I’d like to correct you a bit when you say you don’t get that in IIT’s/IISc’s. The problem is not that you don’t find such opportunities in India, rather it is people don’t put in effort to search and realize the actual potential which is right on the table here !

It’s the attitude that makes the difference. If someone says, you find talent overnight, I’d not take it. It can be shaped into something nice or bad, but can’t be perfected overnight.

Yes it’s true that we do not have a system that supports our students in India and US gives that platform. No second thoughts on that. But again its an individuals attitude how he/she utilizes the opportunity to learn and hone their skills that makes the difference.

Recession is a boon for those who plan to study !

dont want to but will have to say no. i will never come to US for studies and will recommand others not to do so. This country definitely have good universities to study in but there immigration system is so mess up that you are not able to get a job. i guess even rocket scientist will have hard time finding a job because there immigration system dont really care about anyone. companies over here do want to hire people like us but they back off thinking about what kind of pain they will have to go through if they hire a foreign national plus education is really expensive over here. i almost paid $50K for my undergrad. if you are a citizen or GC holder, totally different story……

MY Answer is definite NO,
its voice of every one studying in US ans and also peopleplanning
to go US,to be frnak i till now spent $36K(appro.18 laks) towards my masters and till have one more subject(univeristy of colorado)……i need to clear my bank laon and debts.icant work
in india and clear it…it need to work here…
and now these americans are layingoff the H1 B’s …
these stupid americans are very clever..in making money from internation students for schools….
its just a money making techinque adopted my amricam schools…
and every one konws,,,the quailty of education they provide has
now quesion of match with indian schools (IITs, IIM’s…and
many.), but still people go for US schools….

first of all..americans are so lazy to workk..and now they not
allowing us to wrok in their county……but they want their
economy to grow…….hows its possible…
stupids they think ..by laying off international workers..they
can provide jobs to they citizens…foolish thing///
thouhg if they have a 2-jobs per person(that is 200% chance)…
their economy will never grow rather it will
come down to …1 Re= $50……hahahah
the only reason is they are lazy…they dont work and dont let

others work….
this is my opinion…hope obama opens his eyes..make their
people, laern to work first..then after he can lay off
international workers…and give jobs to thier citizens…
i pity Obama….

Wow, Miss Kiran,

I really don’t understand the problem of people like you. First, you need to learn about United States and Americans; second, you need to learn good, representable English! It’s people like you who spoil the name of my country (India). I don’t even understand, how do people like YOU get entry to United States, they should have clearly rejected your F-1 visa right in India. If you ever worked in good American companies (which i assume, you haven’t, since-nobody would want an idiot like you to work for them) , you would understand, how Americans work and how smart they are (just like Indians or may be much smarter)!! No body invited you to study in this country with the guarantee of a job thereafter!! Dang!! Kiran, you’re a waste of time and shame to entire India, Go back and learn some basic Englis; spending money (18 lacs- baah) won’t get you anything, Dumbass!! If you couldn’t afford it, why spend it?? Go Educate Yourself !!

My comment is for Sneh.

I dont know who the hell are you! It seems that you have no respect for your country. I am also an Indian and have worked in American Comapanies for the last 8 years. I fully agree with Kiran that Americans are lazy people. Look at the difference in tuition fee they charge from US citizens and International Students. We pay many times more than thier citizen but still they dont want to study. This proves how lazy are they. And for your knowledge sneh, America is so developed now because of international skilled worker and mostly indian. US is developed due the hardwork and knowledge of international worker, otherwise this country would have become like Africa. I am surprise, if you are an Indian, then what made you think like that. And the comment you have given to Kiran to improve English, you too need to improve your english. Along with the english you should learn discipline too. Because of the people like you these Americans dominate Indians. People like you are just a burden.

FYI – even American citizens studying in state different from residing state has to pay out of state fee till they become resident of the new state.

@sameer
intresting fact:- pune university charges 2.5lakhs for a child of a NRI from dubai.whereas for locals it is 25k…

Well said, Kaustubh! Also, let’s not forget that the difference in tuition fees for in-state vs. out-of-state and international students applies to public universities only. For private universities, the tuition fees remain the same for all.

@ Kiran and Sameer – Kiran definitely needs to improve her English, both – in terms of grammar and spellings. It surely is not up to the American standards. There are numerous mistakes. I am surprised that you cannot find any!

Hi all,

My vote is a big “YES”. Let me be very frank.
This country has some of the best universities and resources available to students.

1. Interms of technology, research facilities-(still pristine)
2. The network that can be developed
3. Technology transfer to India,
4. International and multicultural exposure(this is different from network)
5. All the above for a very nominal price(because of fundings!!!)

You would not get all the above even in IITs in India,(IISc has some of these)

I don’t think i’m wrong in any aspect, but more suggestions are welcome.

(Note: All the above is from my experience in US.)

You couldn’t be more right. Even the opportunities you get while you are in school are amazing. You could always take those skills and experiences back home and be a better resource for your employer in India. The kind of jobs you get in India straight out of school are an insult to Human Intelligence. I have been there. And I must say I am NOT Super Intelligent. LOL. I think it has to do with the level of education kids get in Indian schools. I am open to criticism.
