Abhinav Sharma lack motivation and sent me the following email.
I am from Punjab. People from Punjab don’t really get admit in USA universities like how south Indians do.
Because of Lack of motivation for GRE and exact knowledge of GRE exam an its preparations take us to pathetic Visa refusals and University refusals too.
Plus students who are really good with academics and don’t have funding can never even think about to study in USA.
In my case, I was really a great student. I did my schooling from Punjab, Distt.
Hoshiarpur which is not big and got 80% marks from Punjab school education board. After my 10th grade, I cleared my JET (Joint Entrance Exam) with 549 rank among all my state. With concentration in Mechanical Engineering, I did my 3 year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with full tuition waiver because of top academic performance.
Due to good academic record i directly got admit in 2nd year of B.tech in Mechanical Engineering from Chitkara college of Engineering under Punjab Technical University. After completing my Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 80%, I got chance to work with Research and Development department in Automotive sector company as a Design Engineer.
After 14 Months of working as a design Engineer, I started preparing for GRE for Fall 2013. Due to lack of motivation and bad teaching, I scored only 290 score in GRE. My friend who is in Texas still motivating me to prepare for just 2 months and then give exam.
He know that I can do that but inside I am not motivated much because of family troubles. Please share your views what should I do now in this situation?
Lack of Motivation
I don’t agree to you about being in Punjab is affecting your preparations and reason for low GRE score.
These days, all you need is an internet connection and a computer to find information about GRE prep and higher education in America.
Don’t blame your environment for lack of motivation.
Take responsibilities for your action.
Motivation must come with within.
If you have strong desire to Study in America, then you have to work towards that goal.
