Is it possible to Study in Germany without IELTS or TOEFL?

Question -

Few got into german universities without writing GRE or TOEFL or IELTS. Some universities consider TOEFL and some consider IELTS. I also would like to know which is the best for german universities? TOEFL or IELTS?

Study in Germany Without IELTS

Universities in Germany offer Masters degree program which are offered in English.

Is it mandatory for the international students to write IELTS or IELTS even if the medium of instruction is English during your bachelors degree?

In most cases, you need a TOEFL or IELTS to apply for a program with English as language of instruction.

Tuition Fees for Studying in Germany

The level of English language proficiency depends on the university you apply for.

Usually you do not need a TOEFL or IELTS if you hold a bachelor’s degree with English as language of instruction or if your mother tongue is English.

Some, universities just require letter from your college verify your English Language Proficiency.

College admission requirements in German Universities vary between universities.

You have to check the English Language proficiency requirements for each university you plan to apply. If you get lucky, you can study in Germany without IELTS or TOEFL.

 

TOEFL or IELTS Requirements in Germany

Few examples of required TOEFL or IELTS test scores for Higher Education Institutions (HEI) in Germany.

Hamburg HAW ( Pharmaceutical Biotechnology )

  • TOEFL – Applicants must have at least 83 in the internet-based test, 550 points in the paper test or 220 points in the computer test.
  • IELTS – Applicants must have at least Band 6.

Heilbronn H (Program – Software Engineering and Management )

  •     TOEFL paperbased version 550, or
  •     TOEFL computer-based version 213, or
  •     TOEFL internet-based version 79 (TOEFL code for Heilbronn University 2751), or
  •     IELTS  minimum 6.0, or
  •     Cambridge Certificate CAE minimum C.

Wildau TH (Renewable Energies)

  • for non-native English speakers proof of adequate competence in English (authenticated copy), any of the following: TOEFL (IBT 90), IELTS (6,5) or Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)
