I got admit into John Hopkins – Masters in Biotechnology.

I want to share my experience of the process of admission in this post.

First thing to know is that John Hopkins is a very famous and top university in the United States of America and you visa officer may not ask many questions about why this university for  Johns Hopkins.

And the Biotechnology program at Johns Hopkins is one of the oldest in the world it is 20 years old program.

Located in the biotech cluster of Maryland JHU has the best resources of equipment and faculty at the university.

Unlike other program’s in USA MS biotech has several concentrations a student can choose from

  • Bio-defence
  • Regulatory affairs
  • Drug design
  • Bioinformatics
  • Molecular biology

The application costs 50$ and is completely online but transcripts need to be sent to the university for international students, the requirement is 3.0 gpa i.e 80% n above for Indian students.

TOEFL requirement is 100 in the IBT  test so please check your score before applying to this program.

No specific GRE requirements are posted by the department but GRE of 300 is preferable, for international students MS in Biotechnology as a full time program  through Advanced Academic Program’s of JHU.  Fee is 33000$ for 2 years for 10 credits.

Score Requirements for Admission

  • GRE Scores: Typical ranges for current students are V+Q 290+  and the minimum GRE scores desired are:
    • Quantitative – 150+
    • Verbal – 135+
    • Analytical Writing – 2.5+
  • The formula for consideration in the MBA program is GPA (Grade point average on a 4.0 scale) x 200 + GMAT = 1000 or greater.

  • UT Tyler has a highly trained police department that patrols the campus around the clock.
  • Officers routinely provide services such as vehicle jump-starts, unlocking vehicles, and personal escorts for students leaving campus buildings after hours.
  • Students can call the police dispatch to request an escort.
