  1. HappySchoolBlog rocks !!.It guides you the right books to choose .

TOEFL I prepared for 5 days maximum.. I utilized it partially not fully .
Books : ETS official guide.. pretty affordable ..THIS IS MUST and this is enough at least for the folks who are from english medium. This book gives the exact pattern of the exam.I prefered this book becoz of my GRE exam .POWERPREP was apt in deciding the type of questions in verbal section.so some how i felt to buy this and i had very less gap b/w gre and toefl . i bought this book 4 days before exam .
I am happy for the score in less preparation time.Felt I would have done much better if I prepared for 10-15 days

I don’t watch English movies at all.Neither blog writer.
    SCORE : 102

KAPLANS TOEFL book I invested 1800.worthless..too too toooooo elaborative and I though bought book its like i havent gone through complete book .i used it for reading and listening. but writing and speaking i did nt have tyme.:(

  2. Do I have a chance to get admited if I have 75 points overall and the requiured score is 83? For example, if there is a lot of available places for admission in a particular university

    • Well minimum requirements are close to a TOEFL ibt score of 79/80. I case the requirements at the concerned University are close to 83, there are rare chances that your application would be considered unless and unlit your application is otherwise very strong.
Thus as to me plan for a retake.
      All the best!

Hello guys, I am giving toefl in a week’s time. I am preparing but feeling less confident in speaking section, I have time so planning to overcome this problem. I wanted to ask question about scores, is there anyway i can know my score right after my test? Any suggestions on preparations are welcome

  4. I took the TOEFL test recently and I scored the following; Reading: 19; Listening: 21; Speaking: 22; Writing: 25; Total: 87/120. My school demanded for 80 overall but minimum of 20 in each section. Will scoring 19 in the reading section disqualify me? Thanks, I await your replies

  5. Hello guys,

I have a question to ask.I have given the Toffel exam three times and each time i scored 70 75 . Should i still give the TOFFEL or move on to ILETS?

Is ILETS acceptable in US universities?

    Please guide me.

    • IELTS is not accepted in the US. Did you go to any training school for TOEFL, maybe that can be of some help.. Else you could choose some other country to study and take the IELTS.

  8. I just concluded my B.Sc in industrial chemistry wt first class. I have the ambition of study at USA for M.Sc. Pls i dnt know how to apply for TOEFL Scholarship. Can u please guide me through

    • Adeniyi,
Most Universities in the US exempt Nigerians from writing the TOEFL exam and ALL universities in Canada exempt Nigerians from presenting the TOEFL score. This is because our official language is English Language. In fact, the Visa Officer at the Embassy will NEVER ask you what you scored in your TOEFL because they know we don’t need TOEFL.
But GRE is very very very and very Important for your admission with assistantship and they will ask you at the Embassy. Good Luck bro!!!
