Can anyone help me understand the H1 quota availability for this year. I know that it ended Jan 26 2011 for 2011, do anyone has any idea whether the H1 cap is still available for this year.
Also my client is trying to apply H1 where as i’m on L1 with my company? Will there be an issue if H1 is filed while i’m on L1 with a different company ?

Hi Kushan,
I went through the same process that i got 221(g) form with a list of employer documents. I asked my employer to send them, they gave the docs and i submitted. After document submission, i got a call to submit my passport for stamping. After 4 days back i got my visa. All this from the day of interview till visa stamping, it took 6 months.

I have few questions regarding 221 (g).
Did you submit all the documents to the same VFS center where you had appeared for interview?
Whom did you meet there? Do we have separate window for 221 g?
How did you submit them? Do we have to submit it in a special envelope or something like that?
On the back side of 221 (g) form it has mentioned that i have also submit the passport along with the documents. The passport field is checked. Just wondering as you mentioned that you had only submitted the docs first and then passport on their request.
Kindly guide me on the same.

Hi all,
I appeared for H1B visa interview yesterday. I got Section 221 (g) Notice.
The counselor officer said that you qualify for this visa however in order to process your visa we need a set of documents. She game a form with Section 221 (g) notice which has 8 – 9 documents mentioned on it.
Does that mean my chances of getting H1B are minimal now? Has any one gone through this process?
Kindly share your thoughts.
