I guess I was misinformed about a lot of stuff as it relates to OPT. My EAD for OPT expires at the end of June 2012.
When I first received it the previous year, I wasn’t able to secure employment in my intended area of study, being in a small town with not much job prospects. Eventually, I got employment in November 0f 2011 and all this time I was under the impression that my EAD was renewable.
At the end of April I contacted the person responsible for International Student affairs, re: the process of renewal, which I was under the impression that it existed. I was bluntly told No, it cant be renewed and that I had to either transfer to another school or head back to by country of origin.
I am very happy to come across this site and I have seen where it is loaded with useful information. My question to you is, (if you are able to help), after graduating with an Associates Degree and not being able to financially pay tuition for Bachelors Degree just yet, is there any possibility of me doing another period of OPT? or is there any option that could see me remaining in the US without having to return to my homeland just yet?
