U.S. Consulate in Hyderabad – Opening in December

I had posted an article previously about New U.S. Consulate Hyderabad. I searched around to find some information on US Consulate in Hyderabad opening date and date when visas will be issued in the consulate.

When you look at the Hyderabad US Consulate website, all the links still pont to Chennai US Consulate address. Following message is displayed under Visas page
Thank you for your interest in the U.S. Consulate – Hyderabad.
The U.S. Consulate – Hyderabad is scheduled to open by the end of 2008. All consulate service are currently handled by the U.S. Consulate – Chennai.
US Consulate in Hyderabad – Opening Soon
From the news over various Immigration sites, looks like new consulate in Hyderabad was scheduled to open on Dec, 18, 2008. But, there could be delay. Since its already Jan 1st week of 2009. when new consulate in opened in Hyderabad, it will be much helpful for so many people from Hyderabad traveling to Chennai US consulate for Visa stamping ( F1 visa, H1B Visa, Tourists B1 visa, L1 and so many other visa types).
I will keep looking to see when the new consulate will start functioning. I will write an article when I come across any news. To stay informed, subscribe to the news letter.
