U.S. Consulate in Hyderabad Issuing Visa from March-5-2009

U.S. Consulate in Hyderabad began the operation from Dec 2008, but no Visa was issued. But from March 5 2009, US Visa applicants from Andra Pradesh can reserve appointments through VFS Website.  Following news update was posted in VFS siteThe new American Consulate General in Hyderabad is scheduled to begin consular operations on March 05, 2009. The Hyderabad Consular District covers only the state of Andhra Pradesh. Visa applicants from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala should continue to apply at the Chennai Consulate. Residents of Andhra Pradesh who have already scheduled prior interview appointments at the Chennai Consulate may proceed for their interview to Chennai as scheduled.

What Visa’s are Issued in Hyderabad Consulate?

Well, that info was not posted, but if you try to click on the Estimate of current Visa appointment availability, visa dates are available for following Business B1, F-1 Students Visa. But, that options doesn’t allow to select Hyderabad Consulate. So, call VFS to find types of Visa issued in US Consulate in Hyderabad. H1B dates were not showing after selecting Andra Pradesh as residing state. So, its better to call local VS office or US Consulate directly to find the types of Visa issued.
