Visa Chief at US Consulate Took Bribes; Approved 21 Visas

2 were arrested and charged with bribery and conspiracy charges by a federal grand jury in Washington.
The scheme was hatched in Toronto, where Mike O’Keefe was the deputy nonimmigrant visa chief at the U.S. consulate. O’Keefe personally fast-tracked visa applications for New York-based STS Jewels. In exchange, he received the presents from Sunil Agrawal, the chief executive officer of STS Jewels, according to court documents.
O’Keefe could face upto 2 years in Prison and upto $250,000 in fine and Agrawal could face upto 1 year in Prison and upto $100,000 in fine.
