H1B Visa Status With Receipt Number; Name Missing

USCIS Case Status Online allows the applicants to check their H 1B Visa Petition 2010 status. Employer or attorney should provide you with H1B Receipt number to check the status from USCIS Case search page. But, when you look the case status applicant name will not be displayed.MPR Asks

Hi guys i got my receipt number today, but when i try to check status online my name is mentioned nowhere. how to confirm that my employer has given me correct number. Also the company is in Ohio so it should be filed in which service center?

H1B Petition Status – Missing Name

Only way you can make sure that receipt number belongs to you is to get the copy of the receipt notice from your employer. They should be able to email you a scanned copy of the receipt number. It will contain your name, employer name, receipt number and other details. In that way you can be sure that employer applied for your petition.

There are couple of comments and email where employer declined to provide the H1B Visa petition applicant with the receipt number. Stating, H1B Application receipt number is confidential.  If the employer is not transparent with you with the H1B petition, it’s definitely a something you should be worried about and try to get the receipt scanned copy.

You could have paid for your H1B and there is no way you can know if they submitted your H1 Visa petition to USCIS, unless you get the Receipt Notice ( I797 C – Notice of Action). Based on the receipt number starting 3 letters, you can find the processign center. Alos, processign center will be displayed in your receipt notice.
