GRE Exam is mandatory for any student applying for Graduate program in U.S. Universities. Not all Graduate program require GRE Exam as mandatory requirement. In some schools GRE is not required for engineering program admission.
When to Take GRE Exam
I usually recommend to take GRE exam atleast 1 year before you plan to apply. If you are applying for Fall semester which starts around Aug to Sep. So, take GRE before Aug to Nov of previous year. Having said that there are many students still taking GRE in Jan and Fe to apply for Fall semester. Universities have deadlines till May to June for Fall semester.
Early Applications for Scholarship and Admission
If you want admission with aid, then plan to apply atleast 8 to 9 months before Fall semester start date. Universities in US have 3 admission deadlines
- Early Admission Deadline for Scholarship
- Admission deadline for International Students
- Domestic application deadlines ( students already in US)
Early Admission Deadlines
Universities have funding allocated for every semester. So, if you like to be considered to admission with scholarship, then you should apply before the early admission date. Usually, that date will be atleast 2-3 months before the regular admission deadlines. Usually it will be between Oct to Dec. That’s the reason I advise you to take GRE, atleast 1 year in advance. now m thinking of MS. Presently i dont know anything about GRE . I want to know about the GRE test and admissions through this.

Most of the university open from 1 sep . so it is good to give exam as soon as possible in order to get admission as well as scholarship. First come first serve . condition in many university so don’t look for dead line look for opening date.

yes you are eligible for Gre exams. you can give any time when your preparation is complete and score is valid for 5 year. you use your score with in fine year. you have to give Toefle also for addmission and its score is valid for 3 year
