When To Take GRE Exam For Fall Semester

GRE Exam is mandatory for any student applying for Graduate program in U.S. Universities. Not all Graduate program require GRE Exam as mandatory requirement. In some schools GRE is not required for engineering program admission.
When to Take GRE Exam
I usually recommend to take GRE exam atleast 1 year before you plan to apply. If you are applying for Fall semester which starts around Aug to Sep. So, take GRE before Aug to Nov of previous year. Having said that there are many students still taking GRE in Jan and Fe to apply for Fall semester. Universities have deadlines till May to June for Fall semester.
Early Applications for Scholarship and Admission
If you want admission with aid, then plan to apply atleast 8 to 9 months before Fall semester start date. Universities in US have 3 admission deadlines
- Early Admission Deadline for Scholarship
- Admission deadline for International Students
- Domestic application deadlines ( students already in US)
Early Admission Deadlines
Universities have funding allocated for every semester. So, if you like to be considered to admission with scholarship, then you should apply before the early admission date. Usually, that date will be atleast 2-3 months before the regular admission deadlines. Usually it will be between Oct to Dec. That’s the reason I advise you to take GRE, atleast 1 year in advance. im in my 3rd n final yr of graduation in bsc chemistry wid vocational biotechnolgy in india..i want to do my masters in biochemistry ,immunology.i have heard that there are a few universities offering (10+2+3)after education in united states n which dont require gre exam.cn u plz tell me abt those universities n also about the scholarships being offered if any by them.

I have done engineering from Rajasthan University with 70% in 2006\
Currently working with Cognizant Pune (2.6 years work ex)
Am preparing for the GRE and aim to give the same by ausgust last.
Following are my queries :
1. Please suggest some college/universities to pursue a tech cum management course, along with the course duration and the fee(tuition + living expenses).
2.With August exam result will i have considerable time to get scholarship.
i wish to have all teh necessary information on GRE this year.
i have only first name printed in my passport as well as in all certificates as”Raj”so i have done my GRE registration putting both first and last name as “Raj”.shall i continue with this and fill my US university application form using both first and last name as Raj??…will there be any issues duriing application as well as VISA process?? please help .//

Stat studying now, but preparing for both Gate and GRE sound good. Have one aim and try to achieve it. Looks like you are still undecided if you want study in US or in India.
