Why Should I Give You F1 Visa and Will You Work in USA?

Raghuram Sukumar —  November 28, 2011 — 14 Comments

About working in USA how about if I say this ?

In United States the education system is very flexible for International students. They offer optional practical training in their respective fields for one year. Being a life sciences student we get 17 months extension to that one year. During this course of time if I am offered a job I will be happy to learn new work ethics and protocols regarding handling of a company which are different from India. This will help me to understand overall scenario and shall implement when I return to India.

Kindly help me to improve my answer. I have my VISA interview in couple of days.

    Hi HSB

I am a Ghanaian, am aspiring to have my MBA in the US, am yet to write GMAT. First of all i want to knw the difference between the fall and spring semesters.

During my first degree in my country, i tried to visit the US on two different occasions, but i was refused the visa. I ve siblings in the States and all my documents were genuine yet i was i still refused. Few days ago i found out my date of birth in my passport is not correct and i can only rectify that by changing my passport, am a bit scared to do that since i ve been to the embassy and they already ve my profile in their data and that will cause a refusal of my visa if i finally get admission and am due to acquire visa for my MBA.

HSB do u think i shld maintain my old passport or change it since, i want to apply for my MBA and i need to use my correct date of birth. Pls advise me on whats steps to take.

Awaiting for comments and ur reply. Thanks.

    • Dear Serwaa,

There are 2 questions which I would answer one by one :
First of all i want to knw the difference between the fall and spring semesters – Spring Intake starts in Jan and the deadline to apply for this intake gets over by Oct 1st week. Fall is a major intake in which the classes starts in August-September and the 1st deadline to apply for fall session starts from Oct 1st week and last deadline falls somewhere between Jan- Mar. If you are applying for MBA program you should target at Fall session.

Regarding the passport, if you have legal documents stating that your date of birth was wrong in the earlier passport and the new one has been made to correct it there is absolutely no problem in applying for MBA program and facing the visa officer at later stage.
      Hope this helps!

        Hi

Thanks so much for ur advice, i appreciate that a lot. Am a bit confused here, that’s it mean that both spring and fall has almost the same deadline which is 1st week in October. Then its also means since i ve not yet write my GMAT exam which i intend writing it Feb or March, 2012, i can only apply for my MBA somewhere Oct 2012 and come to the states 2013. Pls advice if am right.

If that is the case, is there no any other possible way for me to start my MBA around Jun, July or Aug 2012 cos i think 2013 is too far.

        Concerning the change i

Will expect ur reply soon, thanks.

I got married and i ve changed my name but ve not done that with my passport, since i ve the intentions of changing my wrong date of birth, i will like to use that to change my name as well, again wont that affect me if i shld attend to an interview for my visa.

Will expect ur reply soon., thanks.

    • not necessary if u have sufficient fund to cover amount on I20. but if u own house then it would be great for it can demonstrate that ur parents will be in a good position even if u are not earning for then and they are spending on u

  5. could i knw ,wch part of life sciences filed u belong to i mean wch branch

  6. I openly said the VI that I would work for some time in the OPT period and it did not hurt my chance getting the Visa.

  7. to begin with u wont have that much time…and this will definitely come as a prepared answer..I guess the visa officers look more for genuine answers!

  8. To your first part of your question, the answer should be like this ‘ To get the best education is a universal human right ‘ and for the second part just try to convince VO that you will come back to your country and work here [ you must have a plan before hand i-e any industry or company you would like to join in that matches your interest],I suppose.

    Goodluck!
