  1. Give answers that will not have “followup questions” for the VO. The best way to nail an interview.

  2. I was rejected f1 visa due to backlogs what does backlog mean and how much backlogs they consider for issuing visa give me some guidance and next when is the possible date i can apply again

  3. hi guys,
I’ve an F1 interview 24th August, i’ve been admitted in a school, GMAT is not required in that same school, do i need to still apply for GMAT or what. Pls i need your response

    • No! GMAT wasnt a requirement so dont worry. The VO will ask for your GMAT score, tell him/her confidently it wasnt a requirement. He will ask to see your transcript… I hope you very good grades

Dude apart from the very score you had, your answers to questions were not the best

  5. A visa officer July 20, 2012 at 6:07 AM

At which Embassy did the interview take place?

  6. hey guys ! i need some suggestions from you all ! i have scored 298 in gre(153quant and 145 verbal)… can i get into good universities like rutgers, michigan state university etc for masters in contruction managemnt…. please guide me guys .

  7. dude !!!
390 score is gmat is very very less….
work hard and try to get around 600, to get a decent college.
    ALL THE BEST

  8. Worst way to appear for a visa interview….frame your answers well….not like a school kid…

  9. 1. Low scores
    2. Terrible answer to why is the score low, bad answer in a non-committal tone
    3. Seniors suggested and you are going to go to the university? Seriously? Can you put like 100k USD and few years of your life at stake without even knowing what you are upto just coz your seniors said. Comeon, no one wants people who have no clue what they are getting themselves into.

    • I can vouch for the fact that the Universities were selected by consultants or agents!

      • Well, I kind of agree with you. I also understand many students do this.

I don’t think the OP had NO chances of getting the visa the moment he said my seniors suggested. I must appreciate the VO who bothered to even ask any more questions after that.

        • sorry, incorrectly phrased while editing.

I meant, “I think OP had NO chance of getting the visa the moment…”

  10. that was a poorly given interview… sounds more like a walk in the park than an interview…

  11. 1. No greetings (with a smile)
2.How did you come about it? Answer you gave wasnt the best. Should have answered like this: I had some dicussions with your academic superviosr at school and he recommended a few univeristies and I decided to settle on this university.. or something in that line. The will actaully prompt the VO to ask you why that university which you’ll answer perfectly using tips from this sites. In essence, what I am saying is that even though you are the one being interviewed you can actually channel the interview into the direction you want.
    3. I am not sure what the answer should be regarding your low GRE or GMAT score. Maybe the more experience guys here can answer that.
4.what did you do for thses two years: Dont just mention the title of the job but speak well of it as short as possible. This again will prompt the VO to ask you why then you are leaving that job… which you’ll answer with your tangible reasons. Notice again that you are drawing the VO to ask you questions you would want him/her to ask.
    5. Prepare again and go get your Visa. You can do it!

  12. I think you know the answer ,you can analyse your interview ..

  13. Not good at all!
